Our outreach committee focuses on connecting the church with the wider community.

Their role is usually a mix of service, relationship-building, and awareness. That might include organizing food drives, supporting local shelters, partnering with community groups, or planning events that welcome new people into the church.

Our worship committee helps plan, support, and coordinate worship services so they are meaningful, well-organized, and reflective of the church’s faith and traditions.

Their responsibilities often include working with clergy or worship leaders to plan Sunday services, selecting music and readings, arranging seasonal services (like Advent or Easter), coordinating volunteers such as readers or greeters, and helping with the practical details that make worship run smoothly.

The Ministry and Personnel Committee (often called M&P) is responsible for supporting the church’s staff and helping ensure healthy working relationships within the congregation.

Their work typically includes being a point of contact between staff and the congregation, supporting ministers and other church employees, and helping address questions or concerns related to work life and wellbeing. They may also assist with hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and making sure job expectations and policies are clear and fair.

The executive board provides overall leadership, coordination, and decision-making between broader congregational meetings.

The executive board also acts as a guiding body—helping keep the church’s mission, policies, and ministries aligned while supporting staff and committees in their work.

Trustees take care of the practical and legal responsibilities that keep the church building and resources safe, functional, and sustainable for ministry.

This usually includes managing insurance and legal matters related to property, and ensuring that church assets are used responsibly and in accordance with its mission and governing policies.

The finance committee is responsible for overseeing the church’s financial health and ensuring that money is managed responsibly, transparently, and in line with the church’s mission.

Their work includes preparing and monitoring the annual budget, reviewing income and expenses, tracking offerings and donations, and providing regular financial reports to leadership and the congregation.

The property committee is responsible for the care and upkeep of the church’s building, grounds, and physical assets.

Their work typically includes coordinating maintenance and repairs, overseeing cleaning and seasonal upkeep, managing contractors or service providers, and ensuring the building is safe, functional, and welcoming for all who use it.
