Sanctuary/Social Hall

Our stunning sanctuary offers seating for up to 190 guests, with additional space available in the choir loft. For larger gatherings, overflow seating can be seamlessly arranged in the adjoining social hall—ensuring everyone can be part of your special occasion.


Rich woodwork and breathtaking stained-glass windows create a timeless and elegant atmosphere, making it an exceptional setting for weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other meaningful celebrations.


Celebrated for its outstanding acoustics, the sanctuary is also a premier choice for concerts, recitals, and performances of all kinds.

Our sanctuary is fully equipped with professional-grade technology to livestream and record your event with exceptional quality. Featuring multiple camera angles and a digital sound board integrated with advanced production software, vMix, we deliver clear, dynamic visuals and rich, balanced audio.


Whether your audience is in the room or joining from afar, our system ensures a seamless and engaging experience. We also offer the ability to incorporate live video conferencing and pre-recorded content, making it easy to connect multiple locations and participants in real time.

Wedding Ceremony

At Southampton United Church, we joyfully celebrate weddings for all couples. We are an inclusive and welcoming community, honoured to officiate marriages for same-gender couples, those who are divorced, and partners from different faith backgrounds.

Do you perform same-gender weddings?

Southampton United Church warmly welcomes and celebrates all marriages. 


We are an inclusive community that affirms and joyfully supports same-sex marriages, along with all couples seeking to enter into a loving, committed union. 


Everyone is welcome here.

How many people can your church accommodate?

Southampton United Church can accommodate 175 people, plus an additional 75 chairs within our Social Hall.

Are you open to outdoor/creative ceremonies?

Southampton United Church welcomes creative and personalized wedding ceremonies that reflect each couple’s unique story and values. 


We are open and flexible in supporting meaningful celebrations, whether held in traditional or non-traditional ways. Our minister is happy to perform ceremonies off-site.


Couples are also welcome to explore outdoor ceremony locations, with the church available as a beautiful and reliable backup venue should plans need to change.

Do I or my partner need to be a member of Southampton United Church?

You do not need to be a member of Southampton United Church to be married here. 


We warmly welcome couples from all backgrounds to celebrate their wedding in our sanctuary, and we are honoured to share in your special day.

Is marriage preparation required?

Marriage preparation is not required to be married at Southampton United Church; however, if you are interested in exploring it, we would be pleased to connect you with available resources or arrange guidance to support you in preparing for your marriage.

Can I stream my wedding live on Facebook or YouTube?

We are pleased to offer livestreaming services for your wedding, allowing your ceremony to be shared with guests near and far via Facebook or YouTube. 


We can also provide a recorded copy of your service to keep and cherish.

Funerals and Memorial Services

At Southampton United Church, we are here to support you in creating a funeral or memorial service that honours and reflects the life of your loved one in a meaningful and personal way. With compassion and care, we walk alongside families to help design a service that celebrates memory, faith, and story, offering a comforting space for remembrance and healing.

How will the church and the minister help me through the process?

When planning a funeral or memorial service with us, our minister will meet with you to discuss your wishes, reflect on your loved one’s life, and help create a meaningful and personal service. 


This initial meeting is approximately one hour in length, with follow-up communication provided as needed to finalize details and offer continued support throughout the planning process.

Do you need to be a member of Southampton United Church?

You do not need to be a member of Southampton United Church to have a funeral or memorial service here.


We provide funeral and memorial services to members of other religions and those who have no religious affiliations. 

Do we need to do the service at the church?

While our santuary and social hall are available and set up for funerals and memorial services,  you do not have to have the service at Southampton United Church.


Our minister offers services at other locations upon request.


Funeral homes, cemeteries, or sites for the scattering of ashes have become common alternative places to hold services.

Can we do this in different parts?

Grief is not linear and neither is the funeral or memorial service. 


People may choose to have a funeral service, wake, graveside burial, scattering of ashes, or memorial service. 


We are happy to accommodate whichever pathway you decide to take. 

How can music be incorporated?

Music should be meaningful to you and your family.


We can support your musical needs in a number of ways, including:

  • Piano
  • Organ
  • Soloists
  • Choir
  • Pre-recorded music

We will help you coordinate with our Music Director to create a meaningful ceremony that celebrates your loved one through music.


Please note that if you are wanting the service to be livestreamed and are including pre-recorded music, we will be unable to put the service on our page due to copyright. You will still retain a copy of the recording.

Is recording and live streaming available?

We are pleased to offer livestreaming services for you funeral or memorial service, allowing your ceremony to be shared with guests near and far via Facebook or YouTube. 


We can also provide a recorded copy of your service to keep and cherish.

Baptism

Baptism is a joyful and meaningful celebration of God’s love, welcoming a person into the faith community with prayer, blessing, and support. Whether for a child, youth, or adult, we at Southampton United Church would be honoured to share this special moment with you and your family. Our church community is here to walk alongside you as you mark this important step in faith and new beginnings.

Who can be baptized?

Our denomination offers baptism to all ages, from infant to adult.

When does this happen?

A baptism usually takes place as a part of regular Sunday worship service. That way, the whole congregation can celebrate with you and pledge their support. 


Alternatively, a private baptism can be arranged upon request and we would be happy to work with you as you take this important step in faith.

Do you have to be baptized to be a part of the church?

No, baptism is not a requirement for God's love. 


You will always be welcome at Southampton United Church regardless of whether you are baptised or not.

If I move to a new church in the future, do I need to be baptized again?

No, you do not have to be baptised again if you move to a new church.


Baptisms done at a United Church are recognized by all Christian denominations.

Concert and Social Gatherings

At Southampton United Church, we are proud to support a wide range of community events and gatherings. Whether you are planning a concert, social event, workshop, meeting, or special occasion, our welcoming spaces and dedicated team are here to help make your event a success. We look forward to helping you create a meaningful and memorable experience for your guests.

What accommodations does Southampton United Church have?

Southampton United Church can accommodate 175 people, plus an additional 75 chairs within our Social Hall.


Our sanctuary has wonderful natural accoustics, a large raised platform, as well as, a choir loft. Perfect for hosting concerts and conferences.


Our social hall includes a mini kitchenette and space for lots of tables and chairs. Perfect for hosting intimate gatherings, lectures, classes, and workshops of any sort.

What music options are available?

Home of a Karn organ and Heintzman piano, Southampton United Church has great accoustics and microphones for use to let your music shine. Our musical director is also available to help and provide options for soloists if needed for your next event.

What technology is available?

With multiple cameras, and a digital sound board that feeds into the production software, Vmix, we are able to provide excellent visual and audio coverage of your event. There is also the ability to incorporate live video conferencing, as well as recorded video, from outside sources, allowing multiple venues to be connected in real time.  

Can I live stream or record my event?

Yes, Southampton United Church is pleased to offer professional live streaming and event recording services for an additional fee, allowing your event to be shared with guests and audiences both near and far.
