I Am New To Church...
Welcome to Southampton United
What is Church Anyway?
A church is a community of everyday people who choose to come together. We gather to build relationships, learn from one another, and support each other through life’s ups and downs.
We call ourselves Christians, which means we try to follow the life and teachings of Jesus, who lived about 2,000 years ago. We learn about Jesus through the Bible and by talking together about how his message of love, compassion, and justice applies to our lives today.
While we have a church building, church is really about the people. The building is simply a place that helps us gather, serve the community, and share a message of love, welcome, and inclusion.
We don’t claim to be perfect. We make mistakes, just like everyone else. A core part of our faith is forgiveness—of ourselves and of others. When we stumble, we learn, forgive, and keep trying to live with kindness and care.
What Happens at Our Church?
We know that visiting a new church can feel intimidating—we’ve all been there. Southampton United Church (SUC) is a warm, inclusive community, and we would be glad to welcome you and get to know you.
Worship takes place Sunday’s at 11 am, followed by a time of fellowship and coffee.
You’re also welcome to bring your own coffee into the service if you’d like.
Our worship includes prayer, scripture, a weekly reflection, and meaningful music. The service is shared on a screen, and a printed bulletin is available with information about celebrations, upcoming events, and outreach opportunities.
Our greeters will be happy to welcome you when you arrive and are available after the service to answer any questions. We hope you’ll feel at home with us.
