Do I have to be religious to come?
Not at all! Whether you are exploring faith, returning to church, asking questions, or simply looking for community, you are welcome at Southampton United Church.
What should I wear?
Whatever makes you comfortable. Some people dress up, others come in jeans and a hoodie. There is no dress code.
What happens at service?
A worship service usually includes music, prayer, readings, reflection, and community announcements. Some moments are quiet and reflective, while others are joyful and uplifting. Services are designed to help people connect with God, with one another, and with the world around them.
Do I need to know anything before I attend?
No experience is required. You do not need to know when to stand, what to say, or how church “works.” People attend from many different backgrounds and stages of faith, and you are welcome to participate in whatever way feels comfortable to you.
Is Southampton United Church inclusive?
Yes. Southampton United Church is an inclusive community where everyone is welcome, valued, and respected.
Do I have to give money?
No. Giving is completely optional. There is no expectation that visitors contribute financially.

Worship

Prayer
A conversation with God. It can be spoken, silent, formal, or simply sharing what's on your mind.
Ministery
Any way the church serves others. This can include worship, community outreach, volunteering, music, or helping people in need.
Scripture
Readings from the Bible that help guide and inspire us.
Communion
A special practice where people share bread and juice to remember Jesus and God's love for the world.
Fellowship
Simply spending time together, building friendships, and supporting one another. Often this happens over coffee, meals, or community events.
