WHAT DOES SOUTHAMPTON HAVE TO OFFER

Southampton has a significant, very active, retirement community and is full of activities for all ages. As a popular tourist destination there are many excellent restaurants, shops and of course beautiful beaches. Miles of trails provides great hiking, cycling and bird watching. Winters bring curling, snowshoeing and ski trails as well as wintery walks on the beach.

Southampton is home to The Bruce County Museum, and the School of Art and a Cooperative Gallery are just walking distance from the church. The Chantry Seniors Centre offers many programs and activities for 50+ and is a great place to meet community members.

If you are Snowbirds the ability Southampton United Church has to stream live services allows you to attend church all winter and even if you are in town a bad snowstorm won’t keep you away from church.

The town of Saugeen Shores and Southampton United Church welcome everyone, but have a lot to offer the 50+ crowd. We worship every Sunday and have prayer group and Bible study weekly. Our robust choir would be delighted to have new members at any time. When we are not dealing with Covid the church is a hive of activity with many opportunities to volunteer and meet others engaged in both the community and the church.
