What is Church anyway?

  1. A church is a group of everyday ordinary people who gather together to form a community. We make a commitment to walk together, learn together and support each other.
  2. We call ourselves Christians which means we follow the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth who was alive 2000 years ago. We learn about Jesus by reading the Bible. Although we have a building, we are more about the people, and the building is one of the many instruments that we use to share our message of God’s love, inclusion and the Jesus story.
  3. We are not perfect, and we make mistakes. Because we are a Christian community, forgiveness is one of its key attributes. When we fall down, we pick ourselves up, forgive and keep on trying to get it right.

What happens at our Church ?

WELCOME!

We know that stepping into a new church can be intimidating, we have all been there. Southampton United Church (SUC) is a welcoming, inclusive church and we would be glad to get to know you.

Worship is at 10 AM Sunday mornings followed by a fellowship coffee time. You are also welcome to bring your own coffee to church for the service. Prayer, scripture, a weekly reflection and wonderful music make up the morning. The service is shown on an screen and a paper program is available where you will find announcements about celebrations, events and Outreach efforts. Greeters will welcome you and are available after church as well for any questions you may have.

There is a bible study, a prayer group and an active choir, always looking for new members.

Locally we support the local foodbank and contribute to Canada Food Grains program. When we get back to in-person outreach there will be plenty of opportunities to volunteer for various activities, a great way to get to know people.

Is There A Dress Code?

There is NO dress code, (but you might need to supplement your current Covid Zoom attire!)

All are welcome. If this website does not answer your questions please get in touch and we will be happy to talk with you.
